Town provides water quality reports, you can buy your own test kits as well. I used to have aquarium hobby so knowing water quality is important.
I kept fresh fish that I added water to tank directly without any additional steps.
I use tap water to shower, brush my teeth and for cooking (boiling it). Washing vegetables. I buy drinking water.
I do not think that drinking tap water will kill you. I have no idea where bottled water comes from. And if it is "safer".
They have these "filters" that Reverse Osmosis (RO) these supposedly filter every thing out, leaving just H2O. The problem is there is trace minerals that need to be added back. So basically it turns out to be some sort of a chemical experiment. So how many of those chemicals are going to be proven to cause cancer in 10 years ?
