The Garden State came in 48th this year for business tax-friendliness, bumped from its usual spot by even worse performers, New York and California, according to the Tax Foundation's annual rankings, released yesterday

N.J. now ranks 48th for tax climate, up from dead last | NJ.com

Sad for NJ

I can only imagine the outrage some people would have if NJ were to actually do the things they needed to move up that list.

The source is a little out of date, especially since things have been changing rapidly in the last year. This is especially true in New Jersey and some of the Midwestern states. Even in my state of NY, we finally got a decent governor, thank god, or we could have gotten another "winner" like the one in Connecticut.

Still, it may not be much but it does show New Jersey is making some kind of progress. The biggest victory of all is simply that the general taxpaying public seems to be finally waking up.

Who would have thought we would ever see a democratic NY governor who cared about the tax payers? I'm liking Cuomo a lot. As long as he keeps taking plays from the Christie playbook, he should do well.

I completely agree...if Corzine was re-elected here in NJ, we'd still be trying to "spend" our way out of this mess.
