I live in Allentown, PA, but I'm visiting my elderly mother in Sayreville, NJ, and she's been in the mood for a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. She doesn't know of anywhere to get one near her home. Does anyone know where we can get a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich near Sayreville? Thanks for any info.

There might be something in New Brunswick , there are a few places in Downtown Jersey City and on the weekend parking is free , with alot of spaces to choose from.

He said "close to Sayreville" And where exactly do you get these Philly style cheesesteaks in Downtown JC? I've eaten lunch down there for the past 8 years and have yet to find a place worth traveling for a cheesesteak there.

That is a tall order. None of the places around the area have a real Philly Cheesesteak per se.

Places in New Brunswick like Stuff Yer Face and Old Man Rafferty's will list it as a menu item, but it is not like Geno's Steaks in Philadelphia.

Although it is not going to be fully authentic, you may want to try the Sayreville Diner.

Good luck!

Second the Sayreville Diner. It's good as hell there, and in town so it won't be cold when you get it there/don't haveta drive far to get it.

Now I want a cheesesteak...

It's OK, but not like Tony Luke's, DaLessandro's or Chubby's in Philly.

We go on a Philly cheese steak run often. Tony Luke's has Gino's and Pat's covered hands down (plus Tony Luke's has parking). In my opinion DaLessandro's or Chubby's has them all beat.
