I've always agreed that South Jersey should secede, but there seems to be an awful lot of debate about how and where. I propose we use the center divider of I-195 as the North Jersey/South Jersey border. I'd designate Trenton (South Jersey would also take the area bounded by I-95 so as to include it) the capital of South Jersey and Newark the capital of North Jersey. Hey, it could happen
But what would be the purpose? All that would do is create TWO corrupt governments that would each need their own governors, groups of overpaid politicians, governmental department heads, etc.- if anything, the cost of living in both areas would go up due to all of the taxes required to pay for those governments.

LOL good point, Bob. It would be classic NJ to do this.
NJ EPA/Div Fish and Wildlife already divided the state in half; north and south. We just need to duplicate the legislature, change some signs and figure out which half gets to be called NJ.
"Northern zone- Those portions of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren Counties lying north of a line beginning
at the intersection of US Route 1 and the Delaware River, at Trenton; then north along US Route 1 to its intersection with Interstate Route 287; then south on
I-287 to its intersection with Route 440; then east along Route 440 to its intersection with the New Jersey – New York State Line in the Arthur Kill.
Southern zone - Those portions of the Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Salem Counties lying south of
a line beginning at the intersection of US Route 1 and the Delaware River, at Trenton; then north along US Route 1 to its intersection with Interstate Route 287; then

Why split NJ. We should invade NYC, then auction off some city assets to pay for the rest of the new "superstate"...we can rename the new city Greater Jersey City ;-)
PS. This way we finally get full control of statue of liberty as well, AND force the Giants and Jets to add "jersey" to their darn helmets - lol
