haha, they do love their jesus in some parts. I don't really like religion but Id imagine I could find other people like myself. that's what everyone does. so if the schools suck, what about private school? in the long run, its probably cheaper than a lifetime of high property taxes.
Private schools are an option. Our friend, a teacher, sent his son to private school. That was in the Tampa area.
I'd stay as close to Jersey as possible. I've left the state as an adult, but it was a WONDERFUL place to grow up. I had so much opportunity and was exposed to so many wonderful things. I went to the shore, I visited Revolutionary War sites, I went to camps and "educational" days at different colleges/universities, I visited Boston, NYC, DC, Philly, Baltimore, etc. I had friends, co-workers and acquaintances from every conceivable culture, not to mention every socioeconomic class.
Denver is way better for me as an adult, but I wouldn't trade my Jersey childhood for anything. If I had to leave Jersey, I'd probably go somewhere like Doylestown PA or something like that.
Hey everyone, Thanks for all the interesting responses.
I have a love/hate relationship with NJ.
It in no way deserves the rep it has nationally. It's better than dozens of states in many criteria (stuff to do, physical variety, location, great food, etc.)
But many of the complaints are wholly valid (overcrowded, taxes, layers of bureaucracy, fast pace/rat race of life).
Forever wondering if the green grass of other places is a mirage or not, so to speak...

again, thanks all.
Every state has some greener grass... and some nasty weeds.
I left NJ and now I'm in the Boston area. I think for most things life is better up here - definitely a better atmosphere to raise a family. NJ/NY area is better for singles. I do miss some things about NJ like proximity to NYC and the diverse culture.
