What I am paranoid about are people owning guns that have mental problems, and those that support them. I guess we don't have enough murders in this country to prove that guns in the hands of unstable people is a bad idea. Like I said, I have several guns because I live in a rural neighborhood and like to target practice on my 4 acres. But I have enough freakin sense to know that crazy people should not possess guns. Why is that so hard for the gun nuts in this country to comprehend? Are your penises so small that big guns make you feel like men? I really believe that is the case. Someone should do a study.
a study on what? what is the point? the government has no right to even discuss who should be or not be "allowed" to own guns.
1. AR-15s are illegal in NJ.
2. The OP is paranoid or just looking to stir the pot with this post.
3. If you're really paranoid of your neighbor, moving is your only option.
4. 32% of US homes have guns, so wherever you move there might be a gun.

The guy should move. its an accident waiting to happen.
If the police responded and took a domestic violence report the firearms at the location must be confiscated for safe keeping. A judge will then make a determination after a court hearing when and if to return the firearms. If no report is taken and no sign of any offense occurring the police have no legal authority to confiscate the weapons just because someone is/was drunk.

people are drunk in the presence of loaded firearms all the time.

Correct, that's why if a domestic violence crime was committed the popo has to take the firearms and safeguard. Just because someone is drunk the police cannot take the guns. If that was the case half the police and citizenry would be unarmed.
Many years ago I lived in an apartment, and the guy upstairs from me was dealing drugs out of the apartment (his live-in girlfriend confirmed it). There were unsavory people constantly coming and going from the apartment. The guy was also an alcoholic, and there were domestic issues. The police were there several times but ultimately did nothing. New Jersey has very strict tenant rights laws. Essentially the tenant has more rights than the landlord renting the apartment. Needless to say, the only way to get away from that mess was for me to pick up and move.

people's perceptions (particularly in a state where you got lots of people who never touched a gun) of gun ownership is pretty funny. "oh my god, drunk with guns. people are gonna die!" ive been drunk at home. ive gotten angry (i dont really get angry much but im sure its happened). i have never considered getting one of my guns. my guns dont tempt me to become a murderer. not in a million years would that be the case. there are so many people in America with guns in their homes, having the gun doesnt magically turn them into murderers.
