Plenty of back roads. I avoid tolls as much as possible. And using the waze app gets me where I wanna go.
If I were OP though, I'd be concerned about one town you mentioned on your list. East Brunswick. Yeah it is nice but the taxes are very high.

Pretty interesting, but the thread has nothing to do with Manhattan. The OP will work in New Brunswick and wants to live in NJ.
