Actually, it was a perfect example. Al Sharpton showed up. That was kind of the point in his statement.
Yeah, but it had nothing to do with the police. And it wasn't a questionable circumstance, it was a complete fabrication (if my memory's correct - it was awhile ago).
All the blaming of the white man and the police going on here! Personally I think the cops have a tough enough job as it is in this country, dealing with mediocre pay, thugs running rampent AND the usually liberal courts that try to tie their hands. From all I have read the officers were completely justified in shooting that lowlife, threatening them, his friends talking about going to get a gun, then hitting the one officer with a gun. The cops die identify themselves, these were just thugs trying to get street cred. If it was me in that position and I was struck with the car I would have shot 51 times! How about that you bleeding heart liberals? And how about that criminal Sharpton? That guy needs to be locked up for trying to incite riots!

The fact that it was a lie came out later, and the fact that Sharpton got involved to make it about race, once again, was the whole point of his comment.

Yup, especially since he is going to meet with people to discuss how they are going to "close the city down". Sounds like a terrorist threat if you ask me
Perhaps those of you who feel that Mr. Bell was murdered by the police because he was black should use a little more common sense. This was nothing more than police officers defending themselves from a "possible armed suspect" who was drunk and used his car as a weapon by trying to run them over. Now, should they have fired 50 shots? No, but at the same time I can not say how I would react when I feel someone is trying to kill me. So, that been said, Mr. Bell reacted by trying to defend himself by using his vehicle as a weapon because he felt he was either been carjacked, robbed, or whatever other reason you can think of, which then of course made the police officers shot him because they felt that Mr. Bell was trying to run them over. Now, should the other police officers waited for Mr. Bell to run one of the cops over and perhaps kill one of them in order for the police officers to start shooting? Would that then make the death of Mr. Bell Justifiable to you? Would that be the only option police officers have in order to defend themselves first? Hurt me first so I can shoot/hurt you back? Unfortunately the final moments of Mr. Bell's life is a tragedy for all involved.

Ah, I got it now. Sorry, takes me awhile sometimes ...
