i like candy almost as much as cookies so I would be happy if our tax office offered it. I wouldn't mind if taxpayers sprung for a bag of dum dums now and then..

Tax collector (who bought the pops with the money the taxpayers paid her as salary, so indirectly they were taxpayer funded ) is very smart. It's hard to make an strong argument when you're sitting there with a lolly in your mouth.
Ive only had my house for a year and a half and they have already sent me auction paperwork twice because they didnt have record of taxes being paid. Apparently a photocopy of a cancelled check is not enough proof (Thank you for making my life hell for 2 weeks BofA!!) So Ive been getting my little stamp and the second time they sent me a letter I showed them the stamp and they shut up quick. So, I will give it another year and if all goes well I might go back to mailing them in. Takes 10 min so I dont mind.
