It bothers me too, but unfortunately there are no flag police.

Proper U.S. Flag Code:

When flown with the national banner of other countries, each flag must be displayed from a separate pole of the same height. Each flag should be the same size. They should be raised and lowered simultaneously. The flag of one nation may not be displayed above that of another nation.

Just curious where is it that you're seeing other nation's flags flying next to and above the American flag?

Is that recently changes Badfish? I thought it was code to always fly the US flag on top and others below it. I know there are TONS of places in Newark, Elizabeth area where they have 2 even 3 flags on one pole. The third is usually a POWMIA or local soccer club, or some such, but still.

That's what I had thought too.

That code applies to non-national flags - in other words, the US flag flown with state flags, organizational flags, city government flags, etc.

All national flags should be flown at equal height....
unless, of course, you win Olympic Gold.

I believe the municipality can impose fines; call them and ask.

There's this small plaza in Paterson that displays flags from the different countries that are represented in the city's population. The American Flag is in the middle, much higher and larger than the rest. This is the US, so I think this is perfectly fine.
