I also go to Johnson's farm. It's a nice setup. They don't have a petting zoo but you can pay a small price and go in and feed the animals through the fences. They have a "hayride" out to a field where they let you off. You pick your pumpkins and apples. They also have a big playground for the kids...I don't like that you have to pay for it though.
I also think their prices per pound are a little high but I don't have anything to compare it to and my daughter loves it.
LOL...I'm an idiot. Yeah, Battleview, not battlefield...although it is right next to Monmouth Battlefield which to me makes it a very nice day trip.
Thanks for the correction pbergen.
lol my mistake too. It sounds better lol......my cousin has gone there and LOVES the hot apple cider donuts.........
I've always went to Delicious Orchards (Holmdel, I believe?)....as a child, and that's where we take our girls. However, having only been to one apple/pumpkin field, I wouldn't know how it compares (better or worse) to others.
That Battleview one in Freehold intrigues me since it's not that far from me either.....what is it that makes it one of your favorites? I'm curious to see how it differs from other places. Maybe we'll try changing it up an going there this year. I'll take a peek on that site now to see exactly where it is.... Thanks.
It doesn't have to be Fall to go there lol. I love it there...Been there a ton of times (since Holmdel sprayground is around the corner)! Love it there but need somewhere different which I have many now to choose from!
We just went apple and pumpkin picking at Johnson's Farm in Medford a couple weeks ago. They have an amazing set up and really nice farm store and cute gift shop - get the pumpkin muffins and apple cider doughnuts! We're going back for more pumpkins (and muffins and doughnuts) in October.
Moorestown adn DeeCee.. I have to check this one out! Sounds awesome!my twins will love you lol!
another place is demarest farm in hillsdale (bergen county). they have pick-your-own pumpkins and apples (and peaches in season) plus hayrides. along with abma's farm in wyckoff, it's one of the only farms left in the county.
