Actually the article devotes a decent amount of coverage to the illegal Brazilians but I guess you had to read it to discover that.
I'm not denying that there aren't undocumented Brazilians, but the original comment from the subject implied that the sweeping majority of them are welfare-receiving lazy leeches, which couldn't be further than the truth. And undocumented Brazilians in Newark are a very very small minority of the Brazilians in the Ironbound.

The Ironbound has been promoted as being a haven of night life and culture for some time now. Naturally businesses have moved there and the other businesses have boomed (until recently). Newark is Jersey's biggest city and the Ironbound is probably the only part that hasn't been neglected this generation. People there are very hardworking too. Unlike what people in here will have you believe, the Ironbound is full of the type of people who work 9-to-5s and though lots are not natives, they've gone out of their way to learn the American ideals of enterprise and speaking English. It amazes me how xenophobic some people in here are.

I work at horizon across the screen and I will tell you that place has changed dramatically. It looks like a lot of the troublemakers have left and the place is starting to turn around fast. I use to see grafiti on the walls of hero king and now they are gone

Haha, I had the exact same thought.

Maybe we should all move out of NJ and go to Brazil!
