I think that South Orange revaluation was completed in 2007 (bad timing IMO). Little Falls, Verona, and a few nearby towns were or at the process of being revalued I think. I am trying to dig any info on WO since I can't really find anything mentioning any revaluation in WO.

Yes, Verona had a revaluation this past spring according to one of our friends that lives there. Try calling the WO tax office...I would think they should be able to tell you if a revaluation was coming. But I certainly have not heard of anything.
Fairfield and Livingston had revaluations completed this year, 2009.
Appraisal Systems (http://www.asinj.com/revaluation.asp?p=current - broken link)
The website also lists previous revaluations:
Essex County
2008 Boro of North Caldwell
2008 Township of South Orange Village
2007 Township of Montclair
2005 Township of Nutley
2005 City of Orange
2003 Boro of Essex Fells
1987 Township of West Caldwell
1983 Township of Millburn
I have read online that Maplewood is getting a revaluation soon.
According to the list above, it looks like Millburn and West Caldwell should be getting one too.
I think I read that ALL municipalities in Essex County are ordered to undergo revaluation by 2010.
No mention of West Orange in the above link, but they may be looking at a different contractor other than Appraisal Systems Inc. to carry out the revaluations (I've read that ASI is the most expensive appraisal company).
Ok, per the tax assessor the town has been ordered by the county to have the reval ready buy Jan 1, 2011. Hopefully, by that time, we won't be in the mids of another speculative bubble in R/E so that we could get *reasonable* reassessments. Not that I am a believer that my taxes will go down, will be lucky if they remain roughly the same, but I am going to wait with putting that 2nd bathroom upstairs

Good info. My friend in Verona said his taxes went up $200/month (i.e. 2400/year) from the recent reassessment there.
