I wonder if anyone can tell me the most direct route to NYC from Eagle Ridge gated community in New Jersey. I am considering buying a house there but work in Manhattan and I am worried about ease of daily commute by public transportation to Manhattan.

Thanks

No. Eagle Ridge is in West Orange. It is a gated townhouse community across the street from the Essex Green Shopping Center. The bus stops right at the gate, which is about 200ft from the entrance to 280. It is easy, and there are a lot of commuters living there, but it is still the bus. with all the stops, it probably takes close to an hour to get to Port Authority. A lot of people drive to the path in Harrison or the train in Orange (I think).

I take it you mean in West Orange ? See if any of the local jitney routes go past there (try the town website). That gives you a way to take the njtransit.

Alternatively, it's just a short hop down 280 to the PATH train -- so you could drive (or maybe take a bus if they have one) to Harrison PATH station

Oh. The way you said it, I thought you had mistaken "Eagle" Ridge for "Cream" Ridge. Sorry.

But I still think he probably means West Orange, as it is much more commutable than Lakewood.
