I am considering buying a unit in Eagle Ridge for my newly expanded family. We really liked the area when we scouted a few weeks ago. One of our concerns is public transportation to NYC (Tribeca). My spouse has to be able meet clients in the city as early as 6am. Any ideas on how to do it? We only have one car and work in Union County. Thank you in advance

1. Take a Hoboken Bound Train form Orange Station (Monthly to Hoboken : 169.00$)
2. Switch to PATH downstairs @ Hoboken and take that to WTC (Monthly PATH Pass : 50.00$)
3. @ walk east on Vessey Street to Church Street and take the E Train to Canal Street which drops you off in Tribeca. (Subway Monthly costs : 104$)
Total costs : 323$ a month....

Don't forget the price of parking at the Orange train station which is $60/month. (unless they can get a ride back and forth from the station every day)

Theres no room to park , and West Orange keeps fighting solutions to reduce the congestion @ the East Orange / Orange stations.

They have a daily lot if you get there early. One of the lots had monthly parking available when I called a while back.

What "solutions" is West Orange supposedly fighting, and what say would WO have in what goes on in Orange or EO anyway?

Apparently the killed a plan to restore the old Orange branch which would have extended the Old Boonton line into West Orange / Orange. Now that plan is dead , since NJT got rid of the Old Boonton line back in 2002 even though it was a stupid discussion. Now there are plans to extend the Newark Light Rail form Grove Street > Watsessing Avenue train station > Glenwood Ave > Washington Ave / Thomas Street > Lakeside Ave / Thomas Edison Nat Historic park > Park Ave.....its still in the early proposal stages. Theres also the proposed Restoration of the Ampere Station that would free up congestion at East Orange , Brick Church , and Orange by allowing East Orange residents a new place to park and ride. That might happen later this decade , its also tied into a Affordable housing site that would be built next to the restored station. Same thing with the NLR extension alot of development would be tied into that....
