Thanks 6' 3.

We'll be in Alamogordo in about 3 weeks, and will check that area out.

The term "dirt road" here in Yuma can mean anything from a compacted ABC road to a soft sugar sand road. I currently live at the end of a paved road here in Yuma. Beyond the paving the road becomes and ABC surface that washboards very quickly. Then further out into the desert it becomes a soft sand surface.

Many a night, at 0200, we get a knock on the door from someone requesting that I pull them out with my tractor. Their comment is usually, "I thought that I could get back to the highway going this way."

Again, thanks for the info.

George

Default Birdie Loop?

I am wondering what is going on in the Sedona Ridge Subdivision.

I have been looking at Real Estate Listings, and it looks like everyone on Birdie Loop in this subdivision has their home up for sale.

Is there something I should know about this subdivision?

Thanks,

George

Haven't heard or read anything bad going on over there. It's a brand new subdivison and very nice over there behind the Golf Course. Might be all the Holloman personel shipping out as the F-117's are moving out so Holloman will have a skeleton crew until the F-22 Raptors come in next year.....

6 foot 3,

The military personnel transition crossed my mind. That can play to our advantage (increased number of homes on the market).

Just thought I'd ask.

Thanks, and glad to hear you think it's nice in that area. There are several 4 BR Homes that have caught our eye.

George

Many of my friends that are in the military have gotten orders to move. And I think there are a lot of spec homes being built. Havn't heard anything else.

I'm not sure what the new numbers will be but it will house the most powerful fighter jet in the world......F-22 Raptor. Also started tearing down the old base housing and building brand new state of the art housing (900 units)

White sands Missile Range will be getting more troops and up here in ABQ we see the new Ospreys flying overhead all the time. Clovis is making out the best by getting more than 2,000 airman as at first it was to close down by BRAC now its having a major expansion and new mission.

And of course Ft.Bliss in El Paso getting more than 20,000 troops will have a huge impact on Southern NM and our business climate.....

Glad to hear about the new Housing Units.

I remember my first experience with "Base Housing". As a PFC in the Marine Corps in 1960 at 29 Palms, CA my wife and I were entitiled to a 28 foot trailer. No air conditioning, but we kludged a swamp cooler into the bedroom window.

We had to turn sideways to pass each other in many parts of the trailer. I guess that's why the birth rate at the Base Dispensary (yes, Dispendsary - no Hospital back then) was pretty high! :-)
