Default Crime in Aztec?

Can anyone shed any light on how crime is in Aztec? Personal experiences?
Is it bad enough to warrant caution in deciding to move there?
Curious about gang activity in particular. I know Farmington is close by, how much is that influencing the crime rate in town of Aztec proper? Is it something that is getting worse in these smaller towns?

thanks

Aztec doesn't have a jail. The San Juan County Detention Center (county jail) used to be located in Aztec but is now in Farmington.

As for crime in Aztec, my impression is that they don't have the problem that Bloomfield has. I don't know why that might be. Overall Aztec is a nice little town. With an attitude.

This is exactly how I would say it. If crime is your concern then Aztec would be the better choice but they do still have the typical small town crime.
