In the Clovis newsjournal they just announced that the Albuquerque-based keystone International consultants did a test on the area and said the base will fuel Clovis's population well over 50,000 ppl by 2012..Some thing they said are needed are more doctors, dentist, 2,000 houses, 500 apartments, new middle school...more buisness and some think even another high school.. Clovis is gonna catch up to Roswell mybe even pass it..less ppl having to travel out of town for their big shopping!!...Do you thing it will keep growing after it hits the 50,000 ppl mark????
i meant 20,000 sorry!! they said that hotel Clovis was gonna get fixed up into an apartment complex with maybe a parking garage near by..i just know better bring in more work like the cheese plant cus there are no jobs aound right now except mcdonalds and leals lol out of thousands of businesses!!!

That's the problem with most of the small towns when it comes to employment but i'm stoked for the community and hope it grows and prospers out in eastern New Mexico just like Las Cruces is booming in Southern New Mexico.
im with 6'3 i heard abt this too!! i just moved to lubbock because of the need for big shopping but may soon relocate back to Clovis..im gonna try to get signatures and emails to get sams club and target into the Clovis area..great news!!
thanks 6'3 im hoping more entertainment comes especially for the young ones!! And the brand new event center opened up last week which holds abt 5,000 ppl is a great add maybe more concerts!!
yeah sylvia_pic hopefully George Lopez jkjk..they wanna rebuild the hull street over pass soon as well.. the prince over pass gets way way to congested at rush hours..and the one on the west side of Clovis is too far out for some on the south side
yeah but the thing that bothers me is why is traffic so congested for a city of 35,000??? I cant imagine after it hits the 50,000 mark!! Lubbock has 200,000 ppl and some areas there are the same!!! To answer the question if Clovis will keep growing? I do think it is with all the near by towns having to shop there...
