mwahfromtheheart, fruit loop, that's amusing. It doesn't say anything about the establishment I hope? I shall look it up.

adventuregurl, thanks for the website. I've never stayed in a bnb but have been intrigued. I shall look into that option.

Some places on that site are willing to do longer term if you contact them, especially if it's off season which it sounds like you arrival time might be.

Good luck!

Hi adventuregurl, I looked at that website and I like the one listed as Tropical Life. I especially liked their statements on "codes of behavior" and the one about respecting all people. They specially listed LGBT individuals which not only got my attention but made me feel very good about them. It's location in Bywater will give me the opportunity to inspect that neighborhood easily and become familiar with it. It is one that I am considering for where I'd like to live. Thanks for the tip.

It's not an establishment. It's a loop of a few blocks in the FQ with a lot of establishments that cater to the LGBT crowd.

Thanks mwahfromtheheart for the clarification. If you don't mind what are the boundaries of the area so that I can find it and really investigate it. Thanks again.

I'm not sure of the locations. I just know of it because I had a roommate that was into that scene. Their website is under construction. I did a little Googleing and it's from the corner of St. Ann and Burgundy to Bourbon and Dumaine. But don't let that be your border. Rainbow flags are all over town

To everyone who has responded to my post I want to thank you again for your willingness to offer your advice and information. I feel that I will find New Orleans a welcoming and gracious city. Other than finding an apartment I will have to see how helpful the local LGBT center will be.
