In my case, I'd prefer to have 3 A/C's, but I'll get by with 2, incurring an increase of $40.00 per month. I don't know if all M.L. co-ops work this way, or just some. I have a small countertop dishwasher, which I like quite well for 1 person, although I wouldn't recommend it for a couple. The jury is out as to whether I will be charged the $20.00 add-on for my small model. If so, I'll decide to either get a larger size, or perhaps do without a dishwasher altogether.
I don't pay extra for any of my A/Cs...I have 3.

I don't pay for electricity and gas either.

So which is it? Does the seller get double his price in 10 - 15 years? Or does he only get back what he paid plus some add-ons?
Sanford, here's some pics of my house when I moved in - 3 years ago (just scroll down)

No sarcasm in my post.

I think I just mixed you up on that Pratt location ML...probably just UpsonDowns there.

(Certainly no sarcasm on what I thought about Far Roackaway in the later '70's.)

Sometimes the intent behind the words can be misunderstood/misinterpreted in an email, when no offense is intended.
I'm told this is fairly common in emails and emoticons were invented to express feelings that emails lack, but I'm not sure about this.

At any rate, this is a valuable site with very good information and I hope everyone is OK and that no feelings were hurt!

When waiting lists close, does the building/management company have to make that fact public? (Newspapers, notifying HPD).

Probaly not...and they certainly DON'T.
I have often wondered whether even the listings provided by HPD as to the waiting lists are at all accurate and up to date.

Has anyone seen one thing on the HPD site and the opposite from one of these complexes?

My complex isn't even on HPD's waiting list...and we have apartments for sale.

A more accurate list can be found on DHCR's website:

I just looked through your pictures, Seventh Floor, and I noticed a shopping cart/wagon in the pictures. Recently, I was trying to explain what that was to someone from out of town and they couldn't picture it, lol. Brought back memories as I havent' used one of those in many years.

SeventhFloor,
Do you think there is some undercover "hoarding" of apartments going on in a lot of these co-ops by persons unknown with the hope of turning incredible profits when and if the complex goes private?
