I have a question, has anybody had their paperwork sent to HDC and got rejected? Is a spot guaranteed when they send it to HDC or can you still get rejected? Thanks
i have a question. I went to the interview and i was asked for more papers and 2 weeks later they sent me a letter that says " you are a 60% AMI. that they will let me know as more apartments will come available." Does that mean anything? Does it mean im not longer eligible for an apartment ?
I just want to say that unfortunately the one bedroom apartments are no longer available. My daughter received a letter saying she qualifies for a 1 bedroom but since there are none available she will be on a waiting list and will be called when an apartment becomes available and they reach her log number which is in the 2200's.

I don't get it, aren't the income requirements the same for the studio and the one bedroom apts, why cant they give her a studio?
@nkonge - the car is an asset they take 5% of your assets and ADD it to your yearly income…. you may want to transfer it or lease? but if you are under income don't worry about it.
Are you sure it's 5% and not 2%? The 2% is standard for HPD and other affordable or income restricted places for assets.
I applied for 525, but never heard back. I was expecting a letter, and assumed if I didn't get one then I was not in the queue.
If they only tried to call, that would suck since I'm deaf and my voice-phone-relay system is a hassle as some people just hang up. I also work for the city, so I was hoping 2 preferences would work in my favor, and with 32-34K I think I was in the upper range. I may have been crowded out at that range, depending on what was available.
I've applied for Artspace, and a couple of other places, so will keep looking.
The apts are really nice. Congrats to everyone who got in! Post photos
I've just spent the past hour reading all your help feedback on the process. I just received a letter asking for income verification. I'm a bit worried about the time they give you for the next step in the process since I travel out of the country a lot for my job and don't want to lose my spot in the line(or whatever this is called) because I'm not home to check my mail or able to check my voicemails. Do they send emails by any chance... (Hopeful thinking, I know, as the system just went online and all)?
Someone said all the 1 bedrooms are taken?? NOOOOO, that's what I wanted. Think I saw on the website that the 1 bedrooms have terraces, is that true?
But, keeping my hopes up that I'll still be able to snag a studio here!
Also, how does everyone like living there so far?? I've read that some places that have affordable housing with high end apartments, they built different entrances for those that lived in the affordable apartments- How terrible!!! Are they like that here?? And can we paint our walls??
Sorry for all the questions, but simply too excited!
They contact you by phone and mail. I know the building is just about filled up. I don't believe they give you a terrace for a one bedroom. Yes, you can paint your walls and everyone has the same entrance. It's a really nice building, everyone is down to earth and helpful.
