I strongly feel for what his neighbor had to deal with! It's a huge trauma knowing that one lived next to a cannibal and you had to sit there and smell and hear it all. Plus the police didn't even respond to her calls or listen to anything of what she had to say. Of course, this woman lived the worst that a neighbor can live, but there are different degrees of disturbing someone's peace.
So far, I have lived next to: A crackhead who brought prostitutes into his home, a violent man who abused his wife and I'd hear him slapping her around, a woman who dumped compost garbage in the recyclable bins bringing roaches into the compactor chute, and two young guys who threw parties at all hours of the night literally until 6:00am leaving me with no sleep. So no, I've done my time. I'll happily sign the 60 page lease where it emphasizes that you need to keep the peace or be evicted. I think that type of security is worth every penny - even if it means paying 165 AMI, I'll do it for peace!!
