as in things to do? there are some new eateries that have opened up on nostrand avenue and lewis avenue in the past few years. it depends on what you're into. bed-stuy is still a neighborhood in transition so not all amenities that young professionals are assumed to like are present at the moment.
thanks! i'm really excited to be moving i can't wait i know it's not the safest place but it's not that dangerous either i pulled up the crime stats and it has less crime than washington heights located in manhattan. is there anything else i should know about the area?

Where do you find these crime stats ? There is no way that the crime rates are lower in Bed Stuy than Washington Heights. Are you looking at the number of crimes in an area or the crime rate(crimes per 100,000 people) which is how you gauge crime ?

For instance,Bed Stuy is the 79th pct which has a population of 140,000.There have been 12 murders so far this year. That's 8.39 per 100,000.
Washington heights is 2 precincts 33rd and 34th and has a population of 208,000.There have been 7 murders this year ( 3 in the 33rd and 4 in the 34th). That's 3.5 per 100,000.
How is Bed Stuy lower ? Looks like more than twice the murder rate to me .

Well crime stats can be deceiving when trying to determan if one would be safe or not in a certain neighborhood.
