As the title says, what are some fun things to do around Brooklyn & NYC besides go to the movies, eat, and shopping? Particularly around spring and summer time when the weather is warm?
We are not interested in clubs, thanks.
I have already been to Times Square, seen the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, etc.
Any suggestions for an 18 and 24 year old to have fun?

Central Park has outdoor concert series which are free and can be entertaining.
There's also some outdoor theater in the summer times there.
Check out Coney Island (and Astroland) for some sketchy beachside entertainment in the summer.
September has the san gennaro feast at the end of summer which is an increasingly less entertaining outdoor fest.
Some of the museums have outdoor sculpture gardens- also big ones at neighboring NJ's Grounds for Sculpture, and the Nassau County Museum of Art.
I suggest you walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and on the Brooklyn side, take a walk on the Brooklyn Promenade for a great view of the Manhattan Skyline. At the end of the Brooklyn Promenade, take a stroll along Montague Street (in Brooklyn Heights) and have a meal at one of the nice restaurants there.

You should not say Brooklyn & NYC. Brooklyn is part of NYC. NYC is more than just New York, NY, aka Manhattan.
