But one needs to understand that socialism, in itself, is about economics - how resources are shared out, accumulated, or not. One can be a libertarian socialist who believes in unrestricted gun ownership, or a more authoritarian socialist, who might be more likely to advocate restrictions to gun ownership. The same wide spectrum exists among those calling themselves capitalists.
Brilliant!

It's because someone mistakenly considered Bloomberg to be a Socialist based on his Gun views.

Perhaps our wonderful mayor is only trying to get some name recognition outside the city because visions of a run for the Presidency are dancing in his head.

for those people who are over the age of 40 and remember when the schools used to have the magic shows for the kids as a treat the old saying of watch the hands and you learn how the magic trick is done ..

He is doing the magic trick of keeping not focused on how bad he has messed up on the streets after the clean up from the last winter storm and other area with him as the mayor of the city ..

He wants you the NYC voteing public to forget that he has done some of the things like trying to stop smokeing in public areas or the socalled ban of soft drinks and other things that he wants in his personal goals or ideas of trying to let the public know that his way of thinking for us as a whole or group is better off than us and remember his trying to tell us as a group i know what better for you than you thinking for yourself as a person and not as a member of the socalled sheep class that he wants you to be in this world..

As far as his bodyguard detail they are NYPD officer draw from the rank and file of the dept and they have the saying of it a good detail for advancement inside the dept as a whole for it looks good to the advancement board when you say i was on the mayor security detail or i worked the UN security details as you go up the advancement ladder inside the dept ..

But we all know that he will not step out of the city or inside the city without them because he knows that he made enough people mad with his socalled way of thinking that someone might kick his butt up and over his shoulders because of his actions as him beening the mayor of the city of New york ..

Plus with him pulling some of the stunts with him about the gun stings in other states one day it going to come back and bite him square in the butt and no mater how much money you have in your personal life it not going to matter because you be sitting in some state prison over comeing into a state and doing something illegal ..

As one AZ lawmaker said it only a matter of time intill a few states get togerther and bring a class action lawsuit about him crossing state borders and doing illegal sting inside there states and as we speak i make you a square bet that a few states AG are talking to each other that he pulls the socalled stings in are not banding togerther in the class action lawsuit to bring againest him because of him over steping his powers as the mayor of the city of New York

Don't worry; I doubt he could actually be elected (except perhaps in his own mind). I just said I suspected the idea has occurred to him. And let's face it: when you look at the Republican hopefuls who are being put on a pedestal by the media at present, Bloomberg looks awfully rational!
