As much as I hate smoking and breathing it while trying to navigate sidewalks or when I'm out running I think this is kinda dumb. Hopefully atleast its keeps a few butts and wrappers off the ground, I am so sick of people just throwing their crap wherever they please.

I say let the smokers smoke and if you catch someone littering.....$250 fine first offense, second time $500.

Being this country has a long history of witch-hunting, even if they impose fines on butt throwers, once a witch-hunt gets rolling in this country, there's nothing that can stop it, except replacing it with another witch-hunt, and we know who the next witches are going to be

Any number of smokers, regret that the Communist witch-hunt of the 50's didn't extend itself for another 50 years.

And? Did they ever find them all?

Yet another reason that I'm happy to be leaving. Totalitarian state politics sucks. Not to mention the taxes, the cost of living, and the craters facing you on pretty much every road. I'm out, peace.

Let's ban perfume and soap washes that aggravate allergies! Let's arrest people with bad breath!

PS I am not a smoker but I think Bloomberg is a self-centered, egotistical mini god.

DentalFloss...you are trading the "totalitarian state politics" for the "anti-immigrant/gimme my machine guns/religious zealouts/hate filled politics" of the rest of the country.

Enjoy!

Those who hate Bloomberg fall into 2 categories:

1-Those who simply like complaining, so they hate everyone.

2-Those who don't understand what it takes to actually lead NYC.

Well, I am not a great fan of Bloomie, since I do not agree with him changing of the 2 term limit. That to me, I lost all respect for him. The law was 2 terms, everyone knows that from the start. Regardless of who was running against him, what gave him the right to change it. I wonder if our next Mayor, that is, (f he doesn't run for a 4th term), will be able to run for three consecutive terms.

So it isn't that I feel he is doing a terrible job, he over stepped the boundaries with the third term, and yes, I have a real problem with that.

as far as the smoking thing, as a non smoker, it really doesn't effect my life at all, and I really do not care.

PS: Does anybody remember on "All in the Family", Archie Bunkers favorite line to Meathead,

Shut up -------YOUUUUU !!!!!

So you can't smoke indoors or outdoors anymore. Well when everybody gives up smoking, they'll find something else to tax. And then people will complain about that.
