Differences between Soho, Greenwich Village, Tribeca, and Chelsea? (Italy, Hampton: lofts, townhouses)

Okay, I asked a similar question in the Long Island section regarding the Hamptons. But now I am inquiring about this area of Manhattan.
What are the main cultural and demographic differences of Soho, Greenwich Village, Tribeca, and Chelsea? In other words, which place is more artsy and has more museums? Which one is more historical? Which is more fashionable and trendy? Which has more lofts, and which has more townhouses? Which one has more cafes and restaurants? Which has a more small town feeling, with small streets and neighborhood institutions?
I always assumed Soho has many lofts and Italian oriented institutions (restaurants, cafes, bakeries, etc). Chelsea I heard was home to a lot of young and fashionable gays. Greenwich Village I imagined had a lot of models, celebrities, artists, and Yuppies. As for Tribeca, I don't know, maybe the same as Greenwich Village? So how accurate am I, if at all? Thanks.
Also, in what area is "Little Italy" and "Chinatown" located? I heard they were near Soho.
