I got an incredible amount of stares dating my hands, just because they were a shade darker than my
face.
I'm very surprised you got stared at for dating an Asian, since there were so many Asian mix couples in
NYC as long as I remember. The Asian female % dating outside their race is much higher compared to
male, but U.S born Asian male dating outside their race also not that uncommon in all the major cities
with high Asian population.
He wasn't born in the U.S. He was also older than me, so he came from another generation where IR dating was absolutely not common. Not only was I non-Japanese but I wasn't other Asian or White either, so it was definitely uncommon. That was over a decade ago, though.
The reason those type of couples get stares and frowns is because it is unnatural to mix with people who don't look like you. There is nothing wrong with liking your people, having pride in your people and wanting your people to procreate with each other and prosper.
Idk about the East Indian and black. I guess it would depend on how similar you guys look.

Sadly, there are people that are that dumb. I have no problem with people wanting to have relationships with members of their own ethnicity/race/whatever. A majority of relationships aren't IR. However, it isn't unnatural to be attracted to, date, marry, or plain ol' kick it with someone who "doesn't look like you". Last I checked, we're all human.
