Okay. One bedroom doesn't mean a bedroom that will fit a king size bed...

It will of course always fit a twin. Almost always fit a full size bed. Generally will fit a queen size bed, if you don't really have any other furniture (e.g. dresser).

Not saying you won't find a bedroom that will fit a dresser or a king size bed. But it's a HUGE assumption based on your budget.

People don't usually choose a studio for any reason other than financial. But please note that a "studio loft" is probably not the same thing as a "studio with a loft bed."

A studio might be better in your price range, but I think it's very dependent on your age, and how long you're here for (since your handle leads me to believe you may be a short-term UK transplant).

I think a studio is a really good idea... IF it comes with a garage, a basement, and an attic for storage.

That way visitors can sit in one of two Queen Anne chairs atop a perfect Persian Carpet, and see only a copy of Architectural Digest and a phalenopsis in full bloom on a marble cocktail table. Two glasses of cabernet in Baccarat complete the picture.

All the rest of the crap is out of sight.
