He was clearly depressed, loved his dog and people made him feel unwelcome. Though I believe that people hold dogs to highly, he seemed to really depend on his best friend. Imaginge if you had an apt you loved, then you had your GF/BF come over and all of a sudden a new policy bans then, but even though you are grandfathered in, people would harrased you for having them over.
While it is unfair to blame other people for someone taking their own life(recently, my Fraternity brother texted me i was part of the reason, he ultimatly did), you really are part of the reason the person did so. Their brain does not see things the same way you do.
