no swimming pool but a lot of tenants on the second floor are adding the extra floor. unfortunately we're not one of them as we live below terrible neighbors here.
I am thinking of buying an apartment at Glen Oaks Village and was wandering if anyone can answer the following questions:
1. What is included in the maintenance fee (taxes, building insurance, heat, electricity, gas, parking, etc.)? If gas/heating is separate, what is a monthly average bill for it, if you do nto mind sharing.
2. Does management give people hard time selling the appartment?
Thanks.
Included in the fees are--heat/gas, taxes, water. We have our own home owners insurance. We also pay $25 a YEAR for parking.
I've never heard of management giving anyone a hard time selling. I'm actually selling now and to date haven't had any problems with anyone.
I'm considering buying an "E" unit..... It's in fairly good condition with little renovation needed. The asking price 259,900, does anybody know what these apt are actually selling for?

Well, my "E" unit is on the market for $249,000 so that's about right depending on the condition it's in, whether or not it has a washer/dryer, and what floor it's on.
lived at 251-39 71st road in the late 1950's,till 1965,when we moved. It was Grand Central apartments then,i really have the most fond memories of childhood there,i loved it. Creedmore farm, playing in the fields, the woods behind the garages, that cement retaining wall.the ALAMO,we called it. It was really safe then,no worries, beach chairs under the trees in the courts,i walked to P.S. 186. A geat place to grow up,it looks as good or better now,how many places can make that claim, after 48 years. Women playing majon under the trees in the court yards, old round barbacues in the back of apartments, the Good humor man comming down the street, some ones mom yelling, stay out of the gutter! Mr Softie in the evening. Tell me has it changed that much,it looks like the same kinda place to me.
The apts were built in 1947-48.. They are old and have bugs, especially termites that have eaten thru the the floor supports causing creaking floors. If you live in a downstairs apt. you are in trouble and in for some problems as these are not concrete floors. You can hear almost everything going on in your neigbors apt.. location is good, summers are nic winters you are forgotten about. I would try Bayside
i know.. its impossible to live in harmony as everyone is so close together in badly constructed apts. hopefully you may have moved by now
