I'm going to be in NYC with my brother and sister for five days in mid December. Can you help me out with recommendations for food, bars, museums, hotels, attractions, and anything else that you think should be on the itinerary.

Ok, not too much for a budget, I will have just graduated from college. I will personally be able to spend about $100 dollars a day and roughly the same for my brother and sister. I enjoy any type of food. For nightlife I'm more of a bar, lounge, and live music type of place but I'm open for anything.

Personally, I'd say the first day to ride the subway most everywhere and make brief stops at dozens of places. Get out and take a brief look around at all of the stops and make mental notes. After that day ofd briefly sampling a bunch of areas, map out the rest of your stay to visit the places that piqued your interest.

I've stayed in the city with less of a budget so no need to try to scare me.

Thank you, dear Henna. I suspect that NYC has more guidebooks than any other American city (okay, maybe Washington, DC), and I wish people would use that as a starting point.
