Back in late June (or early July), this year, I submitted a transfer to NYCHA management, because I needed to downsize to an apartment with less rooms. I received my approval letter last month (August). Now, all that's left to do is wait. Having been told that downsizing usually takes a higher priority than other types of transferring, how long should my expectation be before it completes? All answers & thoughts would be appreciated.

I applaud you for downsizing. Many single tenants hang onto large apartments (after their kids move out) and deprive families of that space. I hope it goes smoothly and that you get a nice apartment.

I recently submitted my request to downsize from a three bedroom apartment to a one bedroom apartment. I would like to transfer to another development in another borough. Does anyone know what the wait time is?
