Impressive but definitely overpriced for the neighborhood unless some other mobster just has to have it.Only a Russian would go for it in this day and age.Ownership would invite too much IRS scrutiny.

Hey, how did you know? It's Italian mob money AND Russian heiress money!

The history of the massive home is also notable. The mansion was originally built by John Rosatti, a multimillionaire with alleged mob connections, in the late 1980’s. However, he quickly became embroiled in litigation with the state after inspectors found that Rosatti had excavated tidal wetlands to extend the property and refilled them with landfill. Rosatti then sold the property to Russian heiress Galina Anissimova for approximately $3 million. She is still the current owner, according to public records

LOL,I just guessed by the "look" of the place that it had to be.I'll bet anything that Anissimova isn't any plain old Russian heiress either.Probably Russian mob heiress.

Maybe Jimmy Hoffa is buried where Rosatti excavated the tidal wetlands.

It's kind of interesting that the current title holder of most expensive house in Brooklyn is also a gaudy place in an off area…Gravesend ! Weird thing is, when you see the street shot of this place it doesn't look much different than some blocks in Morris Park in The Bronx.

Hideous Brooklyn Mansion Vies for Borough's Record Sale - House of the Day - Curbed National

And everyone thinks all the rich people in Brooklyn live in either Brooklyn Heights or Park Slope !
Evidently the real money is hidden away in these backwater neighborhoods more than an hour from the city.
Gravesend now has had 3 or 4 +or - 10M sales in the last couple of years.

Looks kinda blah from the outside. And some of the inside is horribly tacky. Why isn't this house worth more than that?

Own a piece of the Brooklyn storybook with this 1917 Bay Ridge charmer - NY Daily News

Good question.

And in The Bx ,you can get a real castle for a paltry 3.65M

There is an Actual Castle in the Bronx Asking $3.65 Million - On the Market - Curbed NY

I guess some people just have to be in Gravesend or Mill Basin but Riverdale looks really good in comparison.

yes, this is true.

but some some reason everyone seems to think that life here in NYC only revolves around manhattan, and everyone wants to live there and people need to be there everyday.
Newsflash: It doesn't, and they dont.

also, in these rich neighborhoods, while most of the homes are expensive and they use expensive materials, they are really ugly. I do Google of Mill Basin, Howard beach, for pure entertainments and realize that a lot of wealthy, or comfortable people have absolutely disgusting taste. Seriously, there are really awfully ugly homes that people spend a lot of money on.

I need to learn how to post pictures.

that home is you pictured is absolutely grotesque in every sense of the word. It is so ugly it is actually comical.
