Also someone asked about the amenities - lounge area(BBQ) you have to use your key to get In and out no charge

Roof is not finished/neither is parking. Gym is $100 per month.
Looks nice! I'm #38,000, so not holding my breath

The amenities are pricey -- I pay $30 for my off-peak NYSC teacher's membership, though it's a bit further than an elevator ride.

I sent in a postcard to Penn South on Thursday afternoon, which is when I found out about it! On my Artspace application, I'm #19,000. Oh well, can't hurt to keep trying.

For anyone who has already moved in, what would you say is the vibe of the building?

I'm in the final stages, waiting for HPD approval, and I was a little concerned because we do have two small children and I know the neighborhood is a hotspot. Of course we can work around this, but with the Scores across the street and Marquee around the corner I'm wondering if I should prepare for a party scene or a calm surrounding. Either way, we will still be moving in

It's very chilled and yes there's usually a lot of people in the lounge area but there's a lot of kids including mine in the bldg.

Terisis thank you for your response! I'm feeling a bit better now knowing there are other families with children in the building.

@hellskitchenmom The area is up and coming. The high line helped and Hudson yards is going up in the area. The last few years buildings are popping up all over 10th Ave, from the 40's and 30's down. Lots of restaurants and galleries nearby too. Yes Marquee is nearby and scores next door (I heard scores might be closing or being renovated) but that also means police presence at night as well. I lived in MPD 11 years ago and it was very similar and bit sketchy at night too. I expect the neighborhood will be better in a few years give or take gentrification. I love that the building is near Chelsea piers, a great place for kids.

NYCitygirl24 thank you! I've started to look at all of the plans for Hudson Yards online and you are absolutely right, in a few years the neighborhood will be completely changed. Its funny cause I live on 11th Avenue in the 40's and when I moved in 5 years ago people would ask "Isn't that a bad neighborhood?" and it honestly wasn't. It had a ways to go but we've never felt unsafe here. Over the past 3 years things have changed tremendously and its become a destination of sorts. I know moving down to 28th isn't that big of a difference, but I'm totally fine with waiting for the neighborhood to become what its going to be. Plus, you can't beat living so close to the Highline and like you mentioned, there are some great places in the area for kids. Now if only HPD would hurry up their processing!
