I mean, an actual porcine pig, not just a messy person.

I saw a girl walking a pig on a leash this afternoon, and all I could think of was how god-awful it would be to be her next-door neighbor. I've seen a pet ferret on a leash, but at least they're kind of cute.

I have a cousin who had a pot belly pig as a pet, it was pretty bizzare at first, but it's actually kinda cool lol

I think George Clooney has one, too. But I imagine that he lives in his own huge house. In NYC, most of us live cheek-by-jowl with our neighbors.

It's rather like saying it's "cool" that a friend is doing well with a rock band he's playing with. The issue isn't whether it's cool - the issue is what it's like for the neighbors.

That's not nice.

A lot of people happen to have police officers as neighbors, you know.

Pet pigs are quite clean, very quiet and don't wake you at 3am barking.

why give a damn about the neighbors-- they don't care about you

I thought it was illegal to own farm animals in NYC. I know there are teacup pigs that stay small and are usually kept as pets.

Pot bellied type pigs have been kept as pets for a long time. They're not as big as farm pigs. Supposedly they make good pets. Probably good sausage too.
