Is banning certain ounces of soda really that horrible? I don't think soda itself will whither away whether this supposed ban is real or just concocted. It's junk food, just like cream filled cookies. They will always find a place in our society regardless of what laws are passed pertaining to food and drinks.

BTW, a 20 oz bottle of Mountian Dew contains roughly 77 grams of sugar. That's only in ONE bottle. A lot of these sugary drinks are marketed heavily in lower income neighborhoods. It's a contributing factor in obesity and diabetes in said neighborhoods.

Seat belts - yes. Some tobacco regulations are paternalist, others are not. Speed limits are typically advocated on non-paternalistic grounds.

Why regulate soda? Why not just leave soda alone, & implement healthier options & alternatives? Restrictions can make people become more manipulative & bypass "laws".
