They've been repairing and repaving the JRP the past week. It's much smoother.

Part of it was supposed to run along Conduit Boulevard in Brooklyn - that's why it's so wide between the eastbound and westbound lanes.
Cross Brooklyn Expressway (I-878, unbuilt)

Do you think one day they might narrow down Conduit Blvd and make it into a "normal" street, and use the extra space to build housing one day, or maybe actually make a highway along the park like median?

This is the one I was thinking about. Also, I think there was a scrapped proposal for an expressway that would be built along the right of way of the old Bay Ridge branch LIRR tracks. Imagine how useful that would be? A highway connecting Bay Ridge/Sunset Park to Ridgewood, passing through bensonhurst, midwood, flabush, ENY, etc all on the way.

You shouldn't drive a non-fancy car on it either.

Least favorite: I drive the Cross Bronx to the West Side Highway four mornings a week. The transition between the two has to be one of the most ill-conceived merges ever. Then I get to do it in reverse in the evening. If it takes me an hour in the morning (to go 15 miles), I consider it a win.

Favorite: In NYC proper? Does't exist. NYC highways stink.
