Looks like those huge roaches are once again moving on up from the ground/basements/sewers!

Other night a woman few floors up lets out this huge scream like a banshee. Goes running down to super yelling "there's a bug in my bathtub"!

Spoke with super next day and he said it was a "mouse sized" water bug that must have come up the drains. One long zap with bug killing spray and the thing still took ages to die. Meanwhile the tenant is screaming and almost basically climbing over the guy because the now dying bug is running around her bathroom.

Not gonna lie - that would me, no shame.

Possibly the most horrifying and durable creatures ever to exist.

Make sure your drain traps don't dry out. That's a sure way to let them in.

You can fill a quart-size ziplock bag with water and put it over the drains when not in use.

This thread is gonna give me nightmares.

My worst nightmare is a water bug sitting on my face looking into my eyes as I wake up. Talk about instant death in seconds.

This has been happening in my development lately too.

I have a hair trap that I've been keeping over the tub drain even when not in use. But I bet those suckers can push that out of the way easily enough. Stronger measures are required! Bring on the ziplock bag!

Found a dead one squashed on the stairs leading to my apartment (private home) the other day. Squashed to the step. Which means I stepped on it. Oh the horror. I had trouble sleeping that night!!!!!

Never had them in any other place I've lived. Granted, I've only had 4 now in 2.5 years but it's still so so so horrifying each time. I would have def screamed like your neighbor.

I've killed one so far. It made a nice crunch noise as I squished it with toilet paper.
