Or has it gotten rather intensified as to disturbances of the public peace (i.e., more noisier and boisterious)? That is, is the public peace prone to being measurably more disturbed than in decades past?

That is, more blaring of music and stereos, car audio systems, et al out in public and out the windows of homes and apartment buildings? Noisier crowds of people continually congregating outside their housing of whatever type and being loud and boisterious? More misbehaved youths and young adults? or even older adults? etc. etc. etc. You know what I mean. That is, can it still be counted on as being a relatively quiet, peaceful haven even in its denser and more-developed parts (not just in the hinterlands like Bay Terrace) or has that nature of it changed over time?

I'd hate to move there and then find that it just gets too unreasonably noisy in the streets, parks and sitting areas, in commercial districts, in and around our apartment complexes and attached and standalone homes. Has it lost a measurable part of its quietness and peace or does it still maintain the reputation for quietness and peace in the public places and spaces?
I live in Bayside and it's quiet as long as you don't have crappy neighbors. Also stay away from apartments that are within a block radius of bars on bell because you will hear noise. Other than that it's fine.

Not entirely but they are still the largest race by a decent margin. My remarks were a sarcastic reaction to the notion that NYC ethnic white areas are all considered closed minded, insular and racist, and apparently the OP thought the same or was informed of this fact. The association seemingly also stays with the area even as the it diversifies. For some reason, people associate Bensonhurst with the same mentality despite the fact that ethnic whites are hardly around anymore.

There is still a significant white population in Bensonhurst just as there is in Bayside. In fact, both neighborhoods have almost the same exact racial makeup now.

I always found Bayside to be one of the quietest parts of Queens. Even the major streets like Francis Lewis are very quiet at night.

Bayside attracts many Asian families. They will pay extra premium for better schools.
