True. A lot of contractors and subcontractors would benefit. Recruitment/headhunting firms would benefit as well. More well of people and more companies doing well means more donations to local schools, libraries, the arts, and non profits.

Recruiting/headhunting firms don't need to be in NY these days with Skype and VoIP.

Local recruiters would still get the business, and yes I'm aware of Skype and other video services. For that matter WhatsApp or Facebook.

I like corporations and wealthy people that pay their fair share of taxes, just like everybody else. There are many corporations that love to short working class people a decent pay, so let’s not act like unions aren’t needed against corporate greed.

There is such thing as balance, And a lot of corporations are successful due to swallowing up smaller competition (small businesses). Therefore their larger market shares and profit should be enough to not start a pandering competition for their business. It’s very sad how pathetic some of these politicians are looking as well as spectators.

Actually these jobs are usually covered by outsourced agencies. That is why the days that one started as a janitor and ended up in the C-level jobs are pretty much gone.

I like the idea of it going to Newark or Pittsburgh. I am not so keen on it being in NYC.

Amazon should go to a city that needs an economic boost. NYC is already way too dense in terms of population. The quality of life is not great and cost of living is extremely high. Look at the # of housing lottery threads we have on this site. Soon enough it will be only the rich and poor living in NYC and the middle class will be shipped to the outskirts of NYC.

In terms of jobs, Amazon will hire top candidates. This will come from all over the USA, Canada, Europe, Inidia. Let's remember the animosity that some posters have for "Transplants". This will bring more of those people. LOL. U guys are funny!

Can you show us which corporations or wealthy people that don’t lay their fair share of taxes? Or is this just something you are parroting from the Leftist propaganda?

And are you also implying that Amazon isn’t paying taxes or not paying their employees fairly?

So using that logic, only people in NYC currently is allowed. Newcomers are not wanted?

Also, doesn’t that fly completely against the NYC liberals’ mantra of welcoming everyone?

I’d like to see all the people that think the city is too crowded for anyone else would help the situation out by removing themselves first to set an example.
