NYC has like 600,000 more young people now than in the 1990s. And a lot bigger proportion of whom can afford to go to the club. And a lot more tourists.

Its just nowadays most just advertise via word of mouth in closed facebook groups/eventbrite. Now with social media, they have no reason to be all over tabloids like clubs back in the day. If you are an adult who aged out, you would have no idea where to even find them.
Eventbrite, yes.

Most people under 25 don't use facebook at all anymore.

So only Manhattan is about clubbing?

You haven't lived until you went to a West Indian club in Brooklyn

They both are.

Webster Hall mostly is a concert venue now, not really the club "scene" it used to be.

China Club is apparently open but I don't think it's really a hot spot any more.

Brooklyn has a few clubs and lounges that are pretty solid.

That's sad. NYC needs to have some hotels open adjacent clubs like they used to do. Las Vegas is the model.

Not to be off Topic, but id have a heart attack if I knew my kids went to clubs like I did, with no cell phones, just beepers.
