Yes I've noticed.These young guys have the ability to calibrate their interactions with the public -- older , distinguished looking folks at the register -- they tone it down -- someone rough around the edges they dial it up.



In the past I worked as a substitute teacher. Almost all the high schools in central and eastern Brooklyn had a small number of Arab students -- mostly Yemeni.Very personable ---they got along with everyone. Good interpersonal skills --good schmoozers. Often they would seek out conversation with me in my role as a sub.


Southwestern Brooklyn high schools might have a few hundred Arab students -- they didn't seek interaction -- I was less of a novelty I suppose.

That's middle eastern culture. Interpersonal relationships play a very heavy role in their society.

No surprise... They're from North Africa, and some are indeed mixed with black, so no it's no shock to me at all. lol
