Uh-oh.

There are a lot of things I miss about NYM, especially the handy comparative explorations, like for good brownies or good dry cleaners - but it still seems to be the best city-magazine I've encountered anywhere, certainly better than Los Angeles, so I hope it stays afloat.

Magazines are in free fall as a medium. They've lost huge amounts of ad revenue and subscribers. I don't know how much longer they can remain economically viable.

Daily News, CNN, NY Mag, etc.... All Major Liberal Publications losing money.

Wonder if people are finally getting bored of mostly Anti-Trump news all day. Money talks...

Print media, and by extension anything attached or related to that industry is going down the toilet. Only way some (such as NYT) have managed is to transition their digital service to bring in needed revenue.

Remember when you could find one or more print shops in any given area? Places that did everything from business cards to wedding invitations, offset, and other commercial or social printing? Well they've largely vanished as well. Thanks to growth of technology including more powerful computers and better home or commercial laser/inkjet printers individuals or businesses are doing much printing in house/on their own.

Avg folks are done reading about Trump and Russians. The Metoo stories are more interesting but the media moguls are reluctant to keep covering it in case they end up on the front page.

Very valid.
Just like the coal miners these people were writing about before, they should simply learn to code and apply for jobs at Amazon.

Only if coding is as easy as walking, then maybe everyone can just get on it and get a slice of the pie.
