LOL article says they are now in danger. Why not just cut the force altogether while still keeping 5/truck. Just less trucks is all. The FDNY I hear is overpaid anyways when you factor in the benefits.

How can you say they are over paid when their job is to go in burning buildings and save people risking their own lives. How many people do this job? Not to mention it's a difficult job to get with all the tests involved.

When they do actually accomplish this feet, we can give them a hefty Hazard Bonus. But only those who did, and just for the times they do?

How much we pay our soldiers to go to front lines of war? There are police officers , that stick their necks out, yet dont get compensated so well ever too.

Tests are not a reason to pay you more. Are you paying for the tests or the prereq education or is that free?

There is so much derp with everything you have already vomited out in only two posts. Not only when it comes to “...accomplish this feetâ€. I am going to venture to guess that you are no so good at that whole book reading thing that other people do.

But they’re expected to be axed tomorrow, thanks to a byzantine labor contract that grants the companies a fifth man only if the FDNY can keep its medical leave numbers low.

“Because we’ve gone over that agreed upon number they’re gonna reduce those 5-man companies back down to four man companies,” Fitzgerald said. Instead, when the FDNY needs help it will pull a man from a truck company instead, potentially putting New Yorkers and our first responders at greater risk.
Sounds like a problem within the FDNY with excessive medical absences, could be the nature of the job or corruption. Better call Dwight to investigate!

The FDNY does more than put out fires also the pay has to be competitive ir people wouldn't want to do it here they would go elsewhere.Alot of city workers don't actually live in NYC and I think that's an issue.

NYC is an expensive and challenging place to live why should employees be hobbled with the archaic requirement that they live in the city? If you worked in an unfavorable location would you want your job to require residency in the community?
