This. It's not so much anti-tech as it is anti-MTA. If any entity epitomizes Murphy's Law, it's them. Case in point, they toot the expensive, newfangled switching system they just recently installed on the 7 train but ever since then, the 7 train has had massive delays (yesterday being one of them) whenever there's a tad bit of slush. Meh. I'll wait and see all of you use the omny and be the guinea pigs in this experiment.
right. This is another reason why I’m not gun-ho in it
I am looking for a new air conditioner. One said Wi-Fi equipped. I rejected it.
Yeah, I concur. This whole WiFi remote business has gotten pretty ridiculous. More batteries, gadgets to fill drawers. Things you forget what they were for, etc... I hate the crap out of it.
I haven't seen it anywhere. Not the subway stations I use anyway.
I saw a SIGN yesterday (Xmas Day) indicating the Times Square station is so equipped. But since I was transferring from the Q-train to the 1-train, I never saw the turnstile.

They are a coming! After looking forward to them but then realizing we're talking about the MTA...my enthusiasm has since been tempered. I'll sit and watch all of you use them.

Not me, unless they issue me a durable, hard plastic discounted card that I can refill...just like PATH. I am not buying a Smart Phone just to use the subway.
Looks like the Bryant Park station is getting them.
