I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but I feel pretty darn good about my chances. If the cops have a problem with you being double parked the standard practice is to give you a courtesy notice.

As for blocking traffic I really don't mind given that we are talking about multi lane streets. And if it ever does become a problem I have no problem moving along and finding a spot to hang on another block.
I have seen it in Flushing. Traffic cops are everywhere lurking there.

Not surprising. A large chunk of Queens it's pretty easy to find parking. Howard Beach, College Point, Bayside, etc. Outside of Northwest/Central Western Queens it isn't bad compared to the rest of the city. There's not as much ASP either.

I can't think of a single neighborhood in Brooklyn where it's not hard to find a parking spot, expect maybe the section of East New York south of Linden Blvd?

It's difficult finding street parking in Queens virtually anywhere west of the Van Wyck Expressway

That's right

Driving around block after block often means you won't be the first person to see a spot open up on a block, especially if you're not the first car to turn onto a street.

Gotcha. If I was at high risk in my experience, I probably wouldn't chance it. Bu where I've been, this hasn't been a problem thankfully.

Yep. "Move your car" is their rallying cry. Hear it constantly.

Agree. Was in neighboring rockaway beach today, and found parking easily by shore front prkwy. I think it's much harder in the evening when people come back from work. Far Rockaway ATS though, forget it !

Definitely nighttime parking sucks, but its not as bad as other parts of Queens or Brooklyn

Daytime during the week and weekends its not so bad, but as always nighttime is the pain

Beach season forget it
