Not surprised. It’s always the miserable New Yorkers doing all the talking and talking loud and too much. Us New Yorkers getting money and enjoying the city aren’t saying much.
Let's be honest my fellow NYers. Every poll needs to be broken out by race and age to get a sense of what "NYers" feel.
-If you're an over 35 year old GenX white person of Irish, Italian, Greek, Polish, German descent NYC is no longer a place for you. So I'd expect this cohort to be pessimistic.
-If you're a 25 year old black/hispanic person native to the city, NYC is probably your type of place in 2021. Lot's of crime, hip hop culture everywhere and a restricted NYPD that will allow you to smoke dope on the streets. Live is great in NYC for this cohort.
-If you're a 30 year old lily WASP white millennial from Ohio living in BK, life probably ain't so great and you're thinking of invading another city sometime soon.
-If you're a Chinese immigrant and/or Chinese American of any age you're probably thinking "damn, whitey is leaving so we should probably follow." This cohort probably has a pessimistic view.
Some of above is tongue n cheek however there is an element of truth to each, point being our city really is a different place depending on who you are and at what stage of life you are in.

I don't think there's that much truth to these, but a pretty accurate one is that if you're a lonely person without much to their name in love or valuables, you're likely to be miserable anywhere including NYC.

So you think poorer and older NYCers (aka tech challenged) have a more.optimistic outlook? Lol
If anything, this poll is skewed towards optimistic responses.
I'm so baffled by people's thought process at times.
I am not gonna assume what the tech-challenged think or don’t think. Neither of us asked them. My thought process doesn’t assume what poorer and older people think, I simply don’t have any baseline to go on.
If anything I know a bunch of people with very good incomes who complain about living here, some are moving out. The poor, where will they go with opportunities as good as in NYC for the low skill level jobs ?
