We went and thought it was ok, but don't plan to go back. The walk south along the water to the next pier down from there was more pleasant than being on the island, and the view was the same (maybe better once at the end of the pier). I think of it as a tourist attraction, like an extension of the Highline, which is fine, just not for me.
