Interesting turn of events. Adams lead has shrunk considerably.

Maybe we should have a poll on Adams vs Garcia, I wonder who will do a better job for NYC? I don't strongly support either, just want to see the best person for the job

It appears majority of Yang’s votes went to Garcia. So brilliant campaign decision on her part.

Would people start attacking Asians more if he had been elected? These things are impossible to be sure of
He would have had a lot of pressure on him from the Asian community to do something but at the same time others would be against him using heavy handed police moves. It would have been a hard place to be in.
I might have been nice to have an Asian mayor of New York
but there's to much at stake to vote on appearances
It's hard to say what would have happened. However, I doubt that the mentally unstable or outright racists who have been attacking Asians in NYC and elsewhere really take cues from who the mayor is? Maybe I'm wrong but it's difficult to say.

The two recent candidates from the Asian American community have been flawed (John Liu's campaign finance issues) however that is not to say that there is a lack of political leadership in that community. I would welcome a qualified Asian American mayor in NYC.
